Vacation to Arches National Park - God's Country
We have been on the road for about 12 hours on our way to Moab UT and Arches National Park.
We will stop tonight in Rock Springs WY and spend time tomorrow at Dinosaur Monument national park and the flaming gorge.
I am looking forward to seeing this part of the country and taking lots of pictures. I am always amazed at how the landscape changes from one part of the country to the next. How one cannot be in awe of the beauty I cannot understand.

What am I doing here?
My goal with this blog and the other Social Medias' that I am with, is to reach individual's who are looking for a photographer. Not necessarily to sell to you, but to let you know who I am, what I do and maybe with some tips that I will post from time to time, enlighten you about professional portraits.
Professional portraits is not about having a "good" camera & I "love" taking pictures. It is about understanding how to use your camera to get proper exposure, color & depth of field. It is about using light (light is what makes a portrait, without light, you have a black image.) to create a pleasing image without shadows under the eyes, or overexposed, blown out skin tones and more.
It is also about understanding what you should wear, best time of day for children's sessions , why to have a business portrait and how often you should update it and so much more.
If you have a related question, I will try to answer them the best I can.
I will be posting here and on Facebook images from my sessions. I try to do some from every session, some get posted right away and others may take awhile. Depending on the activities in the studio.

Boys' and their toys.....Girls' toys too!
Are you the owner of a Classic or Antique Vehicle? Or maybe it's a newer vehicle that is your "Dream" car or truck. For many, these vehicles get stored most of the year, so you aren't able to go out in the garage and admire it and show it to your friends. Or for that matter, drive it.
Wouldn't it be nice to have quality images of your car to show your friends?
Memories Forever Photography has the answer for you. We will take quality images and offer you a variety of ways to display them.
Some of the items we have to offer:
*Wall Portraits *Individual Prints
* Slideshow of the car for your ipod® or cell phone.
*Wallpaper image for computer /cell phone
*Mousepad *Coffee Mugs *Can Coolers
*Wallet *Computer Case *Keychain *Clipboard *Business Cards *Waterbottles
*Low Res Images for Facebook® or your website
For the serious collector, have us photograph all your vehicles and have them presented in a beautiful hard cover book.

Ducks, Ducks & More Ducks Video
I was out doing a site check for a family portrait session I have on Saturday. I went to Concordia College, by the pond and found all these ducks and ducklings there. Fortunately I had my camera in the car and was able to get several images.
It was also entertaining watching the very protective mom of the youngest ducklings. She would chase after any duck that she felt was too close.
Some of the ducks came within 2 feet of me while I was sitting on the ground taking pictures. Decided it was time to move when I saw that there were 3 very close to me. The last thing I wanted was to be attacked by their mother.
Hope you don't mind me sharing this, as it isn't often that one is able to capture the beauty of these birds so close.

Great Night for Cruisin' Broadway!
Another great night last night for Cruisin' Broadway. Lots of really nice cars shown last night. You can see this is quiet the social event, with people bringing their lawn chairs and just enjoying the company of their friends.
Next Cruisin' Broadway is August 5th. However, there are alot of other car shows in July to get out and see some really amazing cars.
What is the "Perfect Wedding"?
I was thinking about this and decided to put my thoughts in this blog. Just something to think about.
Every bride has a different idea of what will make their wedding perfect. It is usually a combination of things: their dress, hair, make up, pictures, the church of their choice, the DJ, the dinner, the weather. The list can go on and on.
Sometimes though, things don't go as planned. But one should not let that wreck their day. 18+ years ago when I got married, there was a blizzard/ice storm the night before my wedding. My future husband, Ed, was staying at his mom's place about 40 miles away and we were expecting 150 people on Saturday night for a sit down meal. Many coming from over 100 miles away.
When I watched the weather Friday night with my mom, all I could do was laugh. I laughed because Ed had 2 brothers who had also chosen Thanksgiving weekend in previous years to get married and they all had snow storms on the day of their wedding as well. So what could I really do but laugh....we kept the family tradition.
To me the most important thing to happen that day was that I was getting married. Yes, Ed made it to town in time for the wedding. Most of guests we were expecting for a small family wedding were there, with the exception of my godparents and grandmother.
For our sit down dinner that night we served 99 plates. Though a lot of Ed's & mine friends didn't make it, we still had a great time and it was a "Perfect Wedding" because we got to say our "I do's".
I tell my perspective bridal couples to not sweat the small stuff. Although they may know something wasn't exactly how they wanted it, most guests won't know the difference. They will see a beautiful bride in her gorgeous gown and the handsome groom in his tux get married and to the guests' it was a perfect wedding.
